This course is not a hard pre-requisite for the User Experience role based learning tracks, but it is a great starting point for those of you who need practical exposure to the world of Design Thinking.

You will also find courses in the UX curriculum for SAP Workforce Performance Builder. These courses are excellent starting points for those of you who are responsible for developing learning solutions for your applications, business processes and solutions. SAP Workforce Performance Builder is fully aligned with the SAP User Experience design strategy and a great way to ensure that your users have the same excellent user experience when engaged in learning assets created with SAP Workforce  Performance Builder.

SAP Fiori Education Portfolio


SAP Fiori is a collection of customizable and extendable apps that represents the new SAP user experience paradigm. SAP Fiori offers various business roles a simple, easy-to-use experience for SAP software functions, and works seamlessly on desktop, tablet, or smartphone.  Below are the courses available to improve your skills to install, configure and extend the SAP Fiori solution:

 

  • THINK1: Design Thinking for Business Innovation - Live Experience (2 days ILT). You will learn the Design Thinking as a creative problem solving approach to enable you and to use in solving customer individual challenges, like defining user experience for your apps, new strategies, organizations, processes and of course defining new end-to-end IT solutions and its corresponding requirements. Target Audience: This course is suitable for a broad audience:
    • All people who work with others to solve problems
    • All people who are involved in the definition of an IT specific solution and user experience requirements
    • People who would like to run the methodology within their own company and act as multipliers

  • SAPX03: SAP Fiori Implementation and Configuration (4 days ILT). This course is designed to give you the opportunity to gain an in depth understanding of SAP Fiori functionality, including an overview of the SAP Fiori architecture, authorization, installation, & the deployment of SAP Fiori Apps. In this course, you will learn the architectures using the Any DB deployment and the HANA-based architecture with HANA XS Engine for Analytical Apps. The course covers the installation of the XS Engine for SAP Fiori Analytical Apps and the configuration of Analytical Apps (KPI prerequisites, general overview, how to create KPIs). Participants will also gain familiarity with the basics of SAP NetWeaver Gateway OData Services and the various configurations required for Transactional Apps, Fact Sheets, Analytical Apps and the SAP Fiori Launchpad.  There will be intensive hands-on exercises performed during the course to gain experience with standard configuration, customization and extensions of SAP Fiori Apps. Target Audience: Application and Technology Consultants, System Administrators, Solution Architects, Developers.

 

If you are new to ABAP, SAPUI5 and/or SAP NetWeaver Gateway, the following courses are highly recommended.

 

  • GW100: SAP NetWeaver Gateway - Building OData Services (3 days ILT). Learn deployment options for SAP NetWeaver Gateway. The course begins with an introduction to REST Services, OData and OData query options. You will then learn data modeling basics to start the development of OData services with the SAP NetWeaver Gateway Service Builder. Other topics include: modeling and implementing OData services manually, BOR/RFC Generator, redefining services, service composition, registering and testing a service, and finally security. Target Audience: Developers.

 

  • BC400: ABAP Workbench Foundations (5 days ILT). In this course, you will learn how to create ABAP programs and the most important Repository objects using appropriate ABAP Workbench tools. Learn to navigate in the Workbench, use the syntax help, process source text with the ABAP Editor, test programs using the Debugger, engage in project-oriented development using the Transport Organizer, gain familiarity with important ABAP statements, define elementary and structured data objects, work with internal tables, use function groups, function modules, as well as classes, methods and BAPIs, and so on. Target Audience: Developers.

 

  • BC401: ABAP Objects (5 days ILT). In this course, you will learn how to analyze and design classes (UML). You will learn and work with classes, instances, references, inheritance, interfaces, polymorphism, and events. The course covers special object-oriented techniques, global classes/interfaces (Class Builder), and class-based exception concepts. Target Audience: Developers.

 

  • SAPX05: SAP SAPUI5 User Experience Development (3 Days ILT) – SAPX04 recommended if new to HTML5. This course is designed to give participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of SAP SAPUI5. Participants will learn how to program applications using SAPUI5 by creating a new project in Eclipse. Additional topics in this course include: Model – View – Controller, data binding, data binding – oData, resource handling / localization, Notepad controls, components, extending SAPUI5, styling & theming, CVOM charts; SAPUI5 Mobile, and optimizing SAPUI5. There will be hands-on exercises performed during the course to gain experience with SAPUI5. Target Audience: Developers.

 

  • Expect an Associate Level certification exam for SAP Fiori Implementation and Configuration in Q3 of 2014.

SAP SAPUI5 Education Portfolio

  • SAPX04:HTML5 Foundations for SAPUI5 Development (2 Days ILT) – Optional. This course is designed to give participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of HTML5 by introducing the basics of web programming techniques using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. This course is a pre-requisite course for all courses on SAP SAPUI5, especially if a developer is new to the field of web development. There will be hands-on exercises performed during the course to gain experience with HTML5 so as to prepare the participant for follow up SAP SAPUI5 classes. Target Audience: Developers.

 

  • SAPX05: SAP SAPUI5 User Experience Development (3 Days ILT) – SAPX04 recommended if new to HTML5. This course is designed to give participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of SAP SAPUI5. Participants will learn how to program applications using SAPUI5 by creating a new project in Eclipse. Target Audience: Power Users, Developers.

  • SWPB02: SAP Workforce Performance Builder - Producer (3 Days ILT). This course begins with an overview of the SAP Workforce Performance Builder solution, after which you will begin by building navigation content using Producer. You learn how to prepare your environment for content development, create a Work area, create and edit a recorded project, work with bubbles, work with macros, and apply re-recording and translation techniques. Other topics include: playing back a recording, creating documentation, creating Book Pages, creating quizzes and assessments, setting up scoring and finally publishing your content. Target Audience: Project team members who are responsible for creating learning solutions.

 

  • SWPB01: SAP Workforce Performance Builder - Manager (1 Day ILT). In this course, you will defining Objects and projects in Manager. You lern how to work in Property Sheets, manage Users, roles, organizational units and permissions. You will then learn how to create content structures and assign tasks to Authors, create business processes, and define collaboration of WPB content. Lastly, you will use the reporting capabilities of WPB Manager, publish and assign courses and other content. Target Audience: Project team leaders and administrators who need to configure and administer WPB Manager.
